Out & About from Kinchellie
So much to See and Do
This area of Scotland really is the Mecca for activity of all kinds.
The visitor is spoilt for choice. From endless sightseeing to extreme sports, the choice is up to you.
In times past folks were happy just to tour the Highlands and soak in the beauty. Now the young ones are coming and leading the way by demanding (quite rightly) activity-based holidays.
The Highlands of Scotland are very well placed to fill activity-based days out. It has plenty of water for the many water sports.
It has snow for the skiers and snowboarders. It has the mountains for downhill biking and the Munroe baggers. There is an ever-increasing amount of quality providers of these activities. Kinchellie is central to many supervised activity centres.
Eating Out
There are plenty of places around the area where you can get excellent food, whether it's a light bite or a three course restaurant. Here are some of our recommendations:The Stronlossit Inn, Roy Bridge - Llocated at the edge of the Glen Roy National Nature Reserve.
Russell's Restaurant at The Smiddy House, Spean Bridge
Walking the Highlands
Around Kinchellie Croft here in Roy Bridge there are many walks for those that want to feel and experience the terrain, so we would encourage all to download a map of any area, get out of the car and walk. It need not take long, maybe an hour, but at the end of it you will feel you have had a wonderful experience.
One walk we try to do on a regular basis is 'Glen Nevis'.
