A warm Highland welcome awaits you at Kinchellie Croft self catering holiday accommodation in the Heart of Scotland

Hi there,

I’m Tim and along with my wife Wendy we own and run the self-catering holiday business at Kinchellie Croft in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland.

We fell in love with Kinchellie the day we came up the drive to view it in 1988. We could not get over the magnificent scenic views. It was just like being in a 360-degree cinema.

Within a matter of days Kinchellie was ours and we started making what is now our home into a place others could also enjoy and have a great Scottish holiday.

We are a small, well run, self-catering family business with cottages and log cabins that keeps its turnover under the VAT threshold, allowing our customers to enjoy a wonderful holiday that is not too expensive.

Kinchellie croft used to be a working croft. It still has the feel of a croft with a barn, pig house and burn with fresh running water.

Most of the animals have long gone but not the atmosphere. We grow our own vegetables and have some chickens. There is a small orchard producing apples, pears, cherries and plumes. You can purchase eggs from us (if we have any available). The wonderful views that the crofter would wonder at, the peace he lived in with his family and animals are still present.

Like him you can see the eagles rising on the thermals and calling to their young. You can watch the deer munching the grass ever conscious of your presence.

Not far from Fort William, Kinchellie Croft offers a tranquil and magnificent location for your holiday at any time of the year.

Kinchellie Croft provides a choice of quality self-catering accommodation for all the family set in an 8-acre estate on the side of a hill, amongst the majesty of the mountains and forests of the most beautiful Scottish Highlands and overlooking the Nevis Ski Centre at Aonach Mor. The very well equipped 3 and 4 bedroom cottages along with 2 bedroom log cabins and a 3-bedroom bungalow each have spectacular views.

Because the self catering accommodation lies away from the main road and with no other surrounding properties, just hills and fields, Kinchellie Croft has become a very safe place for families with children and pets. In the surroundings of this rural location, eagles, buzzards, kestrels, sheep and deer can be seen at certain times of the year.

One price policy...

  • The only price you pay is the rental of your holiday home.
  • There are no extras to worry about.
  • All the heating and power is included
  • All the linen, including towels, right down to the dishcloth is included.
  • You have peace of mind that you have not forgotten something,
  • We know we have given you the best deal possible.
  • Our aim is to encourage you to come back.

We at Kinchellie realise that money is tight in the present economic climate. We feel that the only way forward is to give an excellent service, help the whole family get a lot out of their holiday at a low budget price. That does not mean that attention to detail has to be left out, it just requires diligence on our part. This means that we stay full and keep going when a lot of our competitors stumble through high charging to fewer families.

As you can see from the comments from our customers they come back year after year. For them it realy is Home from Home.

Fort William = Great Activites...

Fort William is an amazing hub of activity, for the whole family from Munroe bagging, hill walking, off road biking, climbing, canoeing to skiing or snow boarding. On the other hand if you are looking for a less active holiday there is fishing, golf, painting, photography, or travel on a steam train through some of the most beautiful countryside in the world.

All this is possible from Kinchellie Croft whether you are on you own or a group of up to 40 members.

What our customers are saying...

Tim and Wendy, .

Despite having seen the accommodation on your excellent website, we were still amazed at the quality of the cottage and its contents, but most of all at the space available. The kitchen and lounge were way above the size and standard we have found in other cottages. The cottage’s situation though is its main benefit. To wake up in the morning to the sounds of the multitude of birds in the trees surrounding the cottage was good enough, yet when we ventured downstairs we had a wonderful panoramic view of Ben Nevis through the French windows. What a start to the morning.

We chose Roybridge because of its central position and it proved to be ideal in enabling us to show our American visitors the delights of the West of Scotland. Mallaig, Inverness, Glen Nevis, and The Isle of Skye provided wonderful days out. However, there was no need to travel far, when the solitude and beauty of Glen Roy, just around the corner, was just breathtaking. Add in good nearby hostelries and a particularly good local shop in Roybridge, all within easy walking distance, and you have the recipe for a superb location.

What’s more, we still can’t figure out how you do it for the price!

Once again, many thanks, and we look forward to returning in future years, and will most definitely be recommending you to our friends (indeed have done so already).

We have been coming to Kinchellie for many years. The cottages are warm, comfortable and well equipped. When we arrive here it is just like coming home. There is always the stunning mountain scenery.

A very warm, comfortable house with magnificent views. Tim & Wendy have obviously gone to great lengths to make sure everything you need is there. We have been coming here twice a year for three years and hope to continue.
